Organizations Offering HUD-Approved First-Time Buyer Education Courses

The following organizations provided HUD-approved courses for first-time homebuyers. The HUD-approved courses from these providers will meet the eligibility requirements of most of the down payment assistance programs in San Diego County. Most of these organizations offer their courses on Saturdays. The courses typically last for 8 hours. One of these organization offers the course as a two-hour film that can be scheduled for viewing at any time. This two-hour course meets all of the requirements for HUD approval that the eight-hour, live instruction classes do. Some of these organizations charge approximately $40 for each attendee. A few of the organizations offer their courses in Spanish. Each course has a specific way that attendees must sign up.  Each HUD-approved course will provide the attendee a HUD certificate upon course completion that provides proof of eligibility for first-time homebuyer assistance programs that have HUD education requirements.
